Vicking Vasa ship

Très cool musée.
This Vicking boat sank only after 10 min its maiden voyage on Aug 10th1628 it was during the war with Poland.
It spent 333 years at the bottom of the Stockholm harbour before being found and brought here with much difficulty.
98% was preserved from real. Only a small amount was reconstructed.
Over 500 sculptures are on boat.
The lion at the front represents the king
Roman sculptures were to be associated to power of the romans at the time.
About 150 crew and family members were permitted on board for a supposed short ride before soldiers were brought on and families exited. But unfortunately, somebody forgot to close the lower back gun holes. So with waves, the ship sank in 3 minutes after sailing only 1 nautical  Mile...it was too top heavy (70 m long x 60m high & only 11m width (much too small).
Sprayed with wax during 17 years to preserve and infiltrate the wood, it  is slowly shrinking so it will survive only about another 50 years unless they find a new way to preserve it...
I hope they do...pretty cool stuff!
